BFTMASTER Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 A couple of years ago, maybe 2009 floods, the gates were open as Bull Shoals lake was full. Lots of Walleye, Crappie, and Bass were washed over or through the flood gates. For several years after there were walleye below the dam. There was actually some really nice walleye around. It made for a fun trip being able to catch a mixed bag of species. Has anyone experienced the same with this years flood gates being open earlier in 2011? Thanks for any responses. -Bftmaster

BFTMASTER Posted January 2, 2012 Author Posted January 2, 2012 I talked to a Game Warden, who told me that "all trout have to be returned to the water". I still think the minimum length requirements are still in effect. A few years ago, we caught a bunch of nice walleyes in the catch and release area. We released them only to find out they were fair game for the keeping.
