Members Scott Golden Posted January 4, 2012 Members Posted January 4, 2012 I was down on Bull Shoals over the holidays and I wanted to catch some fish so I lined up a trip with Mike a few days after Christmas. We launched out of Diamond City. Mike put us on fish immediately. We vertical jigged some of his spoons and caught a couple nice kentucky's on the first spot. We moved around a little, hit about 1/2 dozen spots with spoons and caught bluegills, crappies, walleye and a couple rocks ;-) Later in the afternoon we started pitching suspending cranks on long shallow points to see if we could find some nice walleye and we did. Nothing to put on the wall but good keeper walleye. Weather was great, fishing was great and we had a terrific time in the boat with Mike. Very personable guy. Very knowledgeable guy. That was the first time I met Mike and I would recommend his services to anyone wanting to catch fish and have a general good time on lower Bull Shoals lake. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip.
powerdive Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Scott, welcome. I guess Mike probably didn't fish the Stockton tournaments that you did. Glad to hear you had a fun day. Did you happen to check out any retirement property while you were here?
Members Scott Golden Posted January 5, 2012 Author Members Posted January 5, 2012 Hi Powerdive (not sure who you are??) Sure miss those Stockton days....hated to see that club dissolve. I bought some property in Peel, right about middle of the lake (Point 17). We have a 2 stall boat dock in Coon Creek and our property is just up the road. We border the Corp property in a little cove the locals call "the devils kitchen". LOVE it down there..... I put up a 30x50 metal building and built a small 450 sq/ft studio apartment in it and for now it's comfortable and self sufficient. Plan to retire there if this economy ever gives me the opportunity ;-)
