Members okiebug Posted January 9, 2012 Members Posted January 9, 2012 Just found this forum few weeks ago, and this is my first post. I was wondering if anyone knows much about the trout pond at Lafortune park in tulsa. Looks like most people who fish it are baitcasters, and i was wondering if anyone has fly fish's it? If so whats the fly of choice? Thanks guys, I am glad I found this forum lot of good info on here.
Members jwpage Posted January 10, 2012 Members Posted January 10, 2012 I have fly fished it several times this year and last year. I have used a white tinseled wooly buggar with a gold bead head. Just strip and pause. I have also used a red zebra midge under an indicator. Usually do pretty good. Tight Lines! Members TheTugistheDrug Posted January 12, 2012 Members Posted January 12, 2012 Zebra midge under indicator...east side just to the north of the tree roots has worked for me. Have seen MANY more taken on Powerbait though.
Members okiebug Posted January 12, 2012 Author Members Posted January 12, 2012 Thanks, for the reply's. Going to try fishing it tomorrow.
Members Basketbreaker Posted January 14, 2012 Members Posted January 14, 2012 Tried the pond today. Mostly threw a panther martin and toss a wooly bugger a little. Didn't get a single bite. A few other people were there using powerbait and they didn't get anything either.
Members okiebug Posted January 15, 2012 Author Members Posted January 15, 2012 I forgot to post about this again, it seems that all the trout are fished out of the pond. That's what was told at the tulsa fly fishers meeting on thursday night. should be another stocking in Feb they said.
