Mike Worley Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Water temperature is still holding at 47-50 degrees and bass & walleyes are biting in shallow water on chunk rock main lake points. Best baits are grubs or swimbaits fished on "A-rigs" or suspending stick baits. There is a deep water bite for bass suspended under schools of shad in 80'-100' FOW with most of the fish in the 40'-60' range with grubs, drop shot rigs or jigging spoons. Crappie are still holding over brush piles and submerged timber at 15'-30'. I fished yesterday in the point 16-20 area and caught several walleyes in the 19"-22" range. The walleyes were all on main lake spawning type banks in less than 15' fow.
