Randall Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 slow slow slow... fished about 8 hours, landed 3 fish- all over 12", lost 2. i came in at cardiac around 6 hoping for some dry action, but i never saw much in the way of rises to the small trico hatch. caught one on a daves hopper later on, so there was a little surface action. one thing i noticed when i did hook up was that none of the fish really fought, they just went to the bottom and shook their heads a little. canoers weren't bad, but i had one guy park his boat right above where i was fishing and start casting a 6" rapala right across where i was trying to fish. fishing might have been slow, but i couldn't have asked for a better day, plus the critters were out and i got to see both a muskrat and a mink play around for a while. i almost forgot, i got the hopper and some advice from another fisherman. its acts like that that make fly fishing better and more enjoyable for newer, less experienced fly fishermen... thanks Cute animals taste better.
