drew03cmc Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 Hey, I am looking for someone semi-locally that can rewrap A guide for me, and add some varnish to my threads on an older glass rod. I only need this one guide taken off and relocated back where it needs to be, but the threads are getting a little dry. Anyone capable of doing this, let me know and let me know what the charge would be. Please let me know as quick as possible. Also, if you would be willing to teach me how to rewrap the guide and what not, that would be greatly appreciated. I can bring the rod down there this week to you, so let me know. Andy
RSBreth Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 What color thread? That would be the hardest thing - matching thread color as there's only about a million of them. I'm too far away anyway...
drew03cmc Posted January 28, 2012 Author Posted January 28, 2012 I am coming down that way to fish this week Randy. Thread color is a tan color, but the stripper would have to be stripped as well as it was rewrapped in the past. Tan would be close enough to make it work. Andy
Brian K. Shaffer Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 You can do a quick touch up.... with the full intention of rewrapping the guide a little later. I have used Sally's Hard As Nails in a pinch... Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
rps Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 No idea where you are, but I can put one or two guides on with a dark tan I have here in one day - Perma Gloss double coat or Threadmaster Lite single coat. No charge but I may come to you in the future with a favor request. *que Godfather music*
drew03cmc Posted January 29, 2012 Author Posted January 29, 2012 rps, I sent you a PM regarding this. Thank you for your offer. Andy

RSBreth Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Yeah - I figured it would be a color I don't have. No tan wrapping thread - just black, green, orange, couple of others. The only tan I have is flat waxed nylon - you don't want to use that.
