Rusty Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Anybody wearing these boots? And willing to give a review...fit, comfort, durability?
cpriest Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 I don't have the STL, but i bought a pair of lower end boots earlier this summer. They are my first pair of wading boots and i really have enjoyed them. They are on the heavy side, but thats probably why they were only around $50. I do wish i would have spent the extra $ and gotten the next expensive style that has a quick lace up. As far as comfort goes I don't think it could be a better bang for my buck. hope this helps
Micheal Kyle Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Russ I have more of the Chota boots come back because of their soles comming off. I belive that for the best bang of you buck the Simms Rivertek is the best boot out on the market. They are made wide for thick socks and the soles are sewen on. For $99 You will not beat them. Guest flyfishBDS Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Ive had Chotas for 4 years, nice fit for my feet very comfy, and current pair have done some hard yards. But my first pair, I broke a plastic clip off and was traded a pair when they were resoled, as my model earlier STL was no longer made. So in fact Ive had two pairs in that time. I guess it depends how much time you put on the water/ how hard you are on gear. I like wearing them though. But like the Simms as well, same with Patagonia and Korkers. Cheers
