Members hog_wild Posted February 14, 2012 Members Posted February 14, 2012 I am more familar with the James but am curious to know, is the fishing better above the bidge and upstream in ozark on the finley or below the bridge and downstream? I have heard where the james and finley meet is a really good spot but I was curious what most people thought was better water for fishing... Coach B
Jack Jones Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I've never gone below the bridge in Ozark on the Finley, but I've taken my kayak out quite a bit on the upper Finley. I've enjoyed it. I've caught plenty of google eye and panfish. It's not bad. "Thanks to Mother Mercy, Thanks to Brother Wine, Another night is over and we're walking down the line" - David Mallett
RSBreth Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Depends on what you're fishing for. There's more Smallies in the river sections (above and below) than the lake at the park, but I like the the Linden and above for Smallies, Linden down to the park for all three black bass species and rock bass, and the area just up from the confluence with the James for Smallies again.
smallmouthjoe Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I have to agree with Randy on this one. The Rock Bass population between Linden and the park is outstanding and the smallmouth pop. is healthy. From the dam to 160 bridge, the fishing is fair and from 160 to the confluence the fishing is pretty good. A good day at the Ozark park reservoir can yield some very nice LM's.
