vonreed Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Were you fishing off the bank or out of a boat?
emjay Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 ^ monsters lurk in the dark..........in the water and out . j/k. around sunset it can get crowded if the bite is good or the run is in full swing. when night falls most the crowd goes home.
vonreed Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 After about 9:00 pretty much everybody is gone, by midnight, you'd probly be the only one there.
Wayne SW/MO Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 i was thinking about getting there at midnight and fish till daybreak. I love to night fish. Most likely you would have it all to yourself, especially Mon thru Thurs. on thr River Run side. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Wayne SW/MO Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Good luck. Live minnows seem to do best for the long haul. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
troutgnat Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I fished Sunday from 5am-11am from a boat. Water was off till after 9am I believe. Didn't catch but a few on grubs, swimmin minnows and jerkbaits. Then we began to see shad flickering on a flat and fish bustin top. So, my buddy and I had made some Alabama rigs up. He had fished them previously I had not. He tied one on and first cast hooked a 3lb largemouth. I followed suit without hesitation, had to try it. Game on!........A hit every cast, a lot of small fish and plenty of keepers mixed in. We wore that flat out and decided to look elsewhere. Not long after that they turned the water on and the fish turned on too. We flat wore them out on the A-Rig. We caught around 40 bass between the two of us and 4 keeper Walleye, biggest eye went bout' 5lbs and our best 5 bass was bout' 16lbs. All fish released to the water expect the 4 eyes which went to the grease! Not a bad day, and my hat's off to that darn A-Rig......................D Darren Sadler "Fishing is an Education...Often the fish 'school' me, yet I do not complain. I just keep going to class!"
troutgnat Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 water temp was 46 and we never caught a fish more than 8' deep. It was almost like catchin bluegill on a June morning! Darren Sadler "Fishing is an Education...Often the fish 'school' me, yet I do not complain. I just keep going to class!"
