West Fork Jason Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Fished Sugar Creek up river from Lake Bella Vista this afternoon, after the morning thunder showers. Air temp was 57 when I left at 4pm, and the water temp was 54. Pan fish were very aggressive and the largemouth were biting as well. First time fishing here, nice afternoon! A few spin fisherman there were doing well with olive tubes worked slow near the bottom. http://www.WestForkJason.com
drew03cmc Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Upstream there is south, correct? There isn't a whole lot of water upstream of Bella Vista on Little Sugar, and you did well. That bluegill looks like an absolute pig. Andy
Guest Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I've fished that area, very nice fish by the way. That black wooly bug looks nice. GO PRO camera? Curious, how did you manage to take a water temp reading?
West Fork Jason Posted February 16, 2012 Author Posted February 16, 2012 Upstream there is south, correct? Yes, the creek flows north there. GO PRO camera? Curious, how did you manage to take a water temp reading? Camera is a point and shoot, olympus stylus tough. For water temps, I have a digital meat thermometer that works well. Just don't put the part with the screen and batteries in the water. Similar to this one, except mine is yellow - http://compare.ebay....mTypes&var=sbar Or you can one that says Whorvis on it, and pay the cost of a new fly line. http://www.WestForkJason.com
Guest Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I never thought to use a meat thermometer. Got a brand new one in the kitchen, might need to break it out this weekend.
Guest Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 The water in Clear Creek was 50 degrees as of 8pm thursday night... I might be wade and bank fishing real soon. Thanks for the idea
