Rented a boat slip there about a month ago. While my boat is in dry dock being worked on, waiting on parts etc. I fish off their dock. Got

there about daybreak. It was cold and wet but caught 3 bows throwing a little cleo between rainshowers the rest of the morning I spent

organizing tackle box, getting a couple of rods ready for use, untangling line etc...

Darrel, the maintenance guy at the resort, stopped by to say hello and talk fishing. Nice fella. I broke for lunch around 11, went to see Joe at the tackle shop, dropped 50 bucks on lures (he is having a sale on some out of season stuff). Got back to the dock around 1pm. The first 3 casts

with the little cleo produced bows and caught a fourth with my 6th cast then it began to slow down. After a bit, Frank showed up and began

schooling me on how to catch fish. He was catching five to every one that I caught. AND WE WERE USING THE SAME LURE!!! SAME COLOR, TOO!!! I'm begining to think fishing is like playing poker. It's not the cards that you are delt, but how you play them, or how you present the lure

to the fish. Anyway, we spent a couple of hours fishing and had a good time. He gave me a few fishing tips, too. They were much appreciated.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention, I caught my first brown! That was exciting, he acctually ripped some drag off my reel. He was 14 inches. I don't know,

would it be to corney to have a replica made of him to put on my desk? I got a nice place on the wall for the replica of his Grandad if I ever catch him.

Well I must of caught a dozen or so trout today (all but one released, including Mr. Browne) had a great time. met some nice people. Well, I need to get to work untangling my line. Hope to see you out on the lake.

I toured that area Tue. and was surprised that no one was fishing Empire and one boat and no bank fishermen at the dam.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
