Members koolaid28 Posted November 25, 2006 Members Posted November 25, 2006 Hello everyone. I live across from the praire creek marina. I have been reading your reports and thought I would add my own and hope you continue to do the same. I enjoy fishing for stripers but also fish for bass. I have only been fishing off a boat for the last couple of years so I am still learning the lake. Any tips and help would be apreciated. Me and a couple of friends launched at Monte Ne on Thanksgiving looking for stripers at 3pm. I marked plenty of shad balls and stripers from horse shoe bend to edens bluff. I stayed till 7:30pm with no luck. I tried super spooks, red fins, 1oz rattle traps in different colors, spoons, cranks, swimbaits, chuggers, and misc other baits. I never did see any top water activity. I went out this afternoon at 3:45pm from praire creek looking for some top water action with no luck. I fished into the coves and since I was not having any luck decided to go down to the 12 bridge. I did not see any top water activity nor did I see any striper guides. I try to keep an eye out for guides. I decided to wrap things up at 6pm. Maybe sunday Ill go down and launch at hickory creek and go down to war eagle.
bobber Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 if you come this way.... point 12, on your river right under the highline wires!! 1000 yards in front or just around the point you'll see what i'm talking about! there has been as many a 8 boats there all week! most show up 1 to 2 hours befor sunrise and leave 2 hours after darkness sets in! hope you snagg one! <*)))))))>< * AMERICAN CANOE ASSOCIATION CERTIFIED CANOE, and SWIFT WATER RESCUE INSTRUCTOR.*
Members koolaid28 Posted November 26, 2006 Members Posted November 26, 2006 I just got back from fishing under the 412 bridge. I caught 4 whites and 2 blacks. Before I left I did go to point 12 and seen about 4 guide boats around piney point. I will try to go back either this afternoon or in the am and try again.
bobber Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 unless that wind lays down i think you might do better up river from the 412 bridge around the second bend in the river at the big bluff, and sneek up stream, this cold front might also help/hurt your outting? good to see that you did get your line yanked!! <*)))))))>< * AMERICAN CANOE ASSOCIATION CERTIFIED CANOE, and SWIFT WATER RESCUE INSTRUCTOR.*
