Members steven tolly Posted March 13, 2012 Members Posted March 13, 2012 Ok so I know I started that off with two things that dont go together, but my goal is to find a reason to run the boat all the way down the lake and find some fish. If we can troll for trout great, if we can bass fish great, just looking for something to do on those afternoons after they shut the water off and we want to see some of the lower lake. Last year we made it down for some bass fishing and did great for a bit, but I have read a lot about fishing the docks and lay downs on the main lake and closer to the powersite darn. Anyone have any thoughts on that for that last week in March. Also what is an effective method for catching trout as you go down stream? We mostly drift fish when the current is running up river, but have never trout fished that far down lake. Any answers are appreciated and we will post a report when we get back. As an Iowa Bass guy I hope to find a some bass to get the blood flowing but the trout fishing is addictive so either way all is good. Thanks for the help Steven
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I would trailer down. There isn't much need to run the roughly 26 miles by boat when you can drive about the same milage. I would suggest you put in at Empire park in Ozark Beach. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
