Yeah, I don't think the SEC is filled with supermen. I think Mizzou will do better than many think. The ONLY thing Mizzou lacks that the top tier SEC teams have is depth. Some of them go three deep at every position with little drop off, while Mizzou could be in trouble if the injury bug bites very bad. A lot depends upon how bad Franklin's shoulder turns out to be, though. It won't be good if he's not 100%, and if we have to break in a new QB that's a problem. But if DGB turns out to be as good as advertised, we should have a great bunch of receivers.

Great get for Mizzou in basketball. I like the players coming in. The transfers other than Oriahki played with the team in practice all year last year, and rumor has it that they gave the starting players all they could handle and often more in practice. The incoming freshmen might be projects, but there are a couple that could end up being very good two or three years from now. Nicest thing is we'll have depth, and a lot more size than this year.

Next year will be a true test for Haith as a coach. He'll have the material but he'll basically be starting all over again. He'll need to get them to play as a team and play to their strengths as he did this past year.

I think being in the SEC is going to help in recuting for football. Someone was saying something about SEC teams going three deep. Well those kids want to play as well. I think some of those recuits that will be sitting the bench at one school will look to another so they get playing time. I mean if you cant play for bama or LSU who wouldnt want to Play against them

I worry though, about what affect our move will have on recruiting in Texas, which has been one of our staples over the years (for football.) I realize A&M is coming over with us to the SEC, but aren't Texas kids going to want to play against Texas and (to a lesser extent) Texas Tech, Baylor, and TCU?

I think the Texas thing is overhyped a ton. We didn't play that many games in Texas each year....maybe 1 or 2 and maybe an occasional bowl game. I would think the SEC brand itself would attract enough players to keep the pipeline open. If Texas A@M is our yearly rivalry game look for it to be played at neutral site in Texas which would give us our one game a year and then possbily a bowl game in Texas. In reality we aren't losing that many games in Texas.

If I were a student I would hate the move, some of my favorite times in college were road trips to away football games, didn't do basketball because the Gorillas stunk. The distance to most of the away games will make this impossible now for Mizzou students, and boosters as well, unless they want to jump on a plane.

Ya'll should be happy about landing in the SEC East.

Texas A&M will have a tought road in the West.

As for depth, thats the difference.

Alabama can run their entire 2nd team defense on the field and have no drop off.

Those guys have fresh 300lb lineman in the game at all times.

Did you see how many times Tyler Wilson got drilled against Bama? I felt sorry for that kid.

Mizzou schedule is very favorable this year.

Alabama, SouthCarolina and maybe Georgia are the only loses that I see right now.

9-3 would be pretty good for your first run thru the SEC.

Road Games are the toughest, but Florida and Tenn arent that good right now.

The open date comes at a good time and ya'll finish with the Aggies.

Hopefully your Qb will be healthy by the start of the season, and you got DGB..

9-3 would be a great finish indeed. I'm still guessing that we'll drop at least one game that we're "supposed" to win (hard not to against quality competition), and I don't see us winning at Florida. My guess based on their schedule is 7-5, or 8-4 if we're able to steal a win against one of the elite teams (Georgia, SC, or Alabama.)

You never know with Mizzou football. They have a history of occasionally winning games they shouldn't, and then losing to teams you couldn't imagine them having any trouble with. We'll see how it shakes out this year.

I don't know Justin. Tailgating to to the SEC schools would be much more attractive to me as a student than some of the Big 12 schools. The atmosphere alone would be worth it to me. Arkansas, Tennesee, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Mississippi, Alabama, and Auburn are not that far and all of these are drivable over a weekend. The students can make it to these games. The longer the road trip the more fun you will have (and more trouble you can get into)! For a college student that is pretty attractive.
