Members fisherman wannabe Posted March 17, 2012 Members Posted March 17, 2012 Has anyone fished around Aldrich or High point?
Members Zac Seale Posted March 18, 2012 Members Posted March 18, 2012 I have fished a couple times the last week or so and it has been slow for me and everyone I've seen. I have been fishing between Orleans and the boat ramp and have only managed a couple of Largemouth and some crappie. I have heard people say they are catching whites further down toward Taylor's bridge. I was hoping to catch the walleye moving in the river to spawn, but must have missed them as i haven't caught any. Sorry i couldn't be of any help. Zac
Members fisherman wannabe Posted March 19, 2012 Author Members Posted March 19, 2012 I do appriciate the reply. Sounds like you are having the same luck I am. I was sure it was just my lack of ability.
Members crappiequeen Posted April 2, 2012 Members Posted April 2, 2012 I have been to high point 4 times last week/weekend(see my post) super slow! light bites... they just are not up yet...yes you can catch some keepers but it works your tail off. and takes 4/5 hours and still not limit out... good luck.
WakenLake Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 fish at the end of the dock at cedar ridge. www.jordanvalleyautorepair.com
inshore Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Been fishing high point to aldridge 3 or 4 times in last couple of weeks. putting in at cedar ridge. limited out every trip. setting my lenght limit at 12 inches makes it harder but doing it. have to wade thru a lot of shorts and barely keepers. females have eggs but none have been bloody. fishing 3/16 darter head with slider cut back three rings fishing from bank out to 12 feet. any stick-up throwing a thill float and 2 1/2 inch tube with a heavy sinker to get it to drop straight down beside cover. they don't want to move very far off the cover. fishing small coves and nooks and the banks leading to them. any jig color seems to work well in the off colored water as long as it's chartruse. be up monday fishing out of a green blue ranger r61 wave if your a member.
kwall Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Thanks for the report Inshore , I sure hope I can catch the spawn this year , will be a week or two before I can go , got my fingers crossed
fishbait3 Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 A buddy and i fished aldrich on 4-7 and it was tough few crappie but all shorts. saw alot of boats bass fishing and they were having a hard time as well. We come across one boat that had 7 keeper crappie but they said they worked hard to find them. Lots of trailers at the lot. Had some jerks on a boat chasing ducks and making annoying wakes. As we pulled ashore It was nice to see a Water Patrol truck and crew doing thier job they were using a flat bottom boat. Saw a few bank fishing people but didnt talk to them.
