Guest Williebuilt Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Me and a buddy will be headed to Table Rock the last weekend in March and I am looking for some input. I have fished there before, but it has been a long time (10+ years) when some family used to live on Taneycomo. We used to spend some afternoons fishing there, put in at Moonshine Beach and fished mostly around that area. Anyway... First question: We are looking to stay near the Baxter public use area. I see there are several places to stay there, but was wondering if anyone can recommend anyplace or are familiar with any of the places in that area to stay. We dont need anything fancy, just a couple of beds and a kitchenette. Second: Tips and tricks! Here around Fort Smith, Arkansas the water temps are already in the mid 60's, up from low 50's two weeks ago. The fish seem to be more concerned with spawning and not eating, at least today the fishing was s-l-o-w. I have found some sites with fishing reports that I have been keeping an eye on. Any predictions for the end of the month? Any thoughts on stages of the spawn on Table Rock then and where the fish might be? I appreciate any input! Thanks.
Members MIKEBARNER Posted March 18, 2012 Members Posted March 18, 2012 3/17 we fished 5:30pm to 9pm. 11 keepers with a 5lb 7oz largemouth and a couple browns 3/18 we fished 7:30am to 12:00pm. 12 keepers with a 15lb 4oz bag'o'five. mid lake area with 61-63 degree temp. 2-15 feet on a Larew Hardhead w/ a bug type trailer green pumpkin red flake. Use the smallest size.3.5 or less...? one on an A-rig and a good one on a topwater. Things are only going to get better, besides the insects.
