Members just fishin Posted March 25, 2012 Members Posted March 25, 2012 Went to LOZ today put in a Larry Gayle, the big Niangua is like chocolate milk. The little Niangua isn't to bad and picked up several crappie and then headed to the Osage. The Osage is in really good shape and caught a lot of fish. We limited on crappie and several bass while crappie fishing. The cove we were in had some fisherman jugging and saw at least 3 catfish over 20 lbs hauled in. The crappie are really turning on and we found them scattered everywhere, deep water shallow water, around brush and while trolling. Water temp was 58.
Members VIP Posted March 25, 2012 Members Posted March 25, 2012 Nice day out. I went to the Glaize (Sat). Same conditions there but with debris past Party Cove. Crappie were there, but had to put it right in front of their nose to get em. Had another tourney going on, so the banks were stacked like chord wood with boats fighting for the same real estate. I tried to squeeze in where I could, but finally gave up around 2 pm, and started fishing docks, and had 3 keepers over 3 lb in 30 minutes (one was dang near 20"/4lbs?) Have they fixed the Gale dock ramp? Was there 3-4 weeks ago and couldn't use the dock; haven't been back since.
Members CapnKenny Posted March 26, 2012 Members Posted March 26, 2012 I fished a little while yesterday above Hurricane Deck bridge and found the crappie in closer to the bank than Saturday. We caught several in 4-7 feet of water using 1/16 Roadrunners with either a white or chartreuse mister twister tail - crappie nibbles didn't seem to matter. The surface water temp was 62, the water clarity was pretty good expecially since they are letting the water flow from Truman. The fishing should be great for the next couple weeks.

We put in at Red Oak Resort Sunday, closer to where I fished anyway.
