Crappie Report

The crappie were on fire this afternoon. My wife had the day off and suggested we go to the lake, no argument here! Fished from 2-5 this afternoon and they wore us out! We caught between 50-60 crappie - could not find anything shallow. The crappie were in 30-40 fow 16-20 feet deep. They were hitting jigs - blue, chart, white, glow chart. We did catch some verticle fishing but casting, counting down and reeling back slow was much better.

On a really good note a friend of mine caught a 2.5 lbs giant crappie on Saturday. It was one of the biggest MO crappie I've seen. Beautiful fish, wonderful color and full of eggs. After 20 years of crappie fishing he finally got his wall hanger! She came on a Thinner Minner jig in glow chartreuse.

It should continue to get better from here on.......
