tapout Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 I fished around Joe Bald yesterday and I caught several smallies and K's on tubes, unfortunately no size, but catching fish none the less. I caught em on flat gravel points in 12 fow and around docks in 8 fow. Couldn't tell you where their bigger siblings were. All the fish I caught were skinny but no bloody tails so I assume males yet to spawn. Water clarity maybe 5 feet and 69 degrees. Good luck to ya. I'd like to thank my FUTURE sponsers: Falcon Rods, Jewel Bait Co, and Seagar

Members lv2fish Posted April 19, 2012 Members Posted April 19, 2012 thanks, vacation..have been fishing mostly around Emerald Pointe and catching a few on wiggle warts and shad baits mostly on points but nothing consistent. Nothing on the bank (at least for me). Most of mine are away from the bank, 8-10 foot deep (green grub)..glad to hear they are around and can be caught by someone who knows how..wish I lived down there!
Tfsh4bass Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Thursday before the front I caught them really good on swimbaits and spinnerbaits around the 86 bridge area up shallow in the back 1/3 of pockets. I had been doing good on chunk rock but for whatever reason they wanted smaller rock yesterday. I caught 25ish yesterday with probably half being decent keepers...had one spot in the 3.5 range and a black close to 4lbs. Today was much tougher for me as I fished the Mill Creek area and caught 14 with 9 just keepers on a variety of baits...just couldn't get locked with the post front fish. Caught fish on spinnerbait, swimbait, football jig, shakey head and topwater but nothing felt like the bait for me today. Back 1/3 was still the best area for me though but the type of bank varied as much as my baits did.
