Members walker04 Posted April 23, 2012 Members Posted April 23, 2012 bank fished from 3-4pm...caught a limit of whites and a few crappie using..well, anything. Popper, roostertail, swimming minow.....plain dry hook(not really, but didn't try...may have worked) The whites were biting anything and everything. got in the boat, tied up to an extending tree in the water...caught a crappie limit in a couple hours there. Went home. Crappie were hitting minnows....was just drop shoting to the bottom, lifting up 10"-12" off bottom and letting hange...really light bite, didn't feel it, saw the line start moving side to side and set it.
Members Wahoo61 Posted April 24, 2012 Members Posted April 24, 2012 Thanks for the report. Did you see anyone catching hybrids? I wanted to get down but it was yard work weekend. I wish more people would post so we could get an accurate idea of what was going on. It is a long trip for alot of people, myself included. What kind of water were they runing? Thanks again for posting.
Members jigfisherx Posted April 24, 2012 Members Posted April 24, 2012 What size on the whites. We were down last Wednesday and caught them non stop but no quality. We were in the boat. any size up at the dam?
emjay Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Went from 8am-3pm. Not enough water running through the gates to create aggressive feeding action on top. Did manage a few small whites on sliders and crappie jigs but too small to consider keeping. I did manage a few LMB on topwater and plastic worms. Other than that, the place was pretty dead to tell you the truth. Action was slow all around. And the worst part was that it was hot, humid and sticky. Evening to night fishing might be better.
