Members evnrude18 Posted May 1, 2012 Members Posted May 1, 2012 Didn't get to the lake until 10:30... wasn't sure how the day would go getting started so late. Water temp was around 67 degrees. Started on the East arm, north side. Crankbaits and jerkbaits were not producing, no wind to break up the water's surface. Overcast skies. Water surface was as smooth as glass. Moved on to the south arm and decided now would be a better time than any to throw a jig and see what happens with no wind. Great midday bite! Boat traffic was as busy as I have ever seen it on Sunday, glad to see so many boats out and enjoying the day on the water. Left around 2:45 pm. 9 short Largemouth males, 3 keeper female Largemouth and a 27 1/2" walleye to boot. All related to the weeds, in various depths between 5 - 15 feet. Looks like the females have yet to spawn, setting up for bedding in the next week or two. Just my take on what I saw. Happy Fishing!
emjay Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Nice. Me and my buddy pulled out 6 LMB with plastics around submerged timber, fishing from the bank. Water got a little stained from the rain.
Members Jayvee Posted June 15, 2012 Members Posted June 15, 2012 I have never gotten any luck with LMB here at fellows. I don't have a boat so i can't go out and try new areas. I only have 2 spots i primarily fish, by the bridge and at Gate 4 (pass the marina) where they release water. Any spots yall wanna help reveal to me (LOL) i love this lake because its close, but finding a spot is hard. Discouraged.
Members evnrude18 Posted October 5, 2012 Author Members Posted October 5, 2012 Don't give up... big bass live here... but with the fishing pressure the bank bite gets, with a boat you will have a lot more luck. Not saying that you can't get a good bite off the bank, but until I built my jon boat, I wasn't able to get a consistent LMB bite.
