smallmouthjoe Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Started the day around 7:30am and finished up around 11:00am. Focused on fly fishing and caught a mixed bag of Longears, Smallmouth and Spots, total number around 12 or so. Flow was normal and the water was stained. Nothing doing on top yet, hopefully it will heat up soon. Best fly was #6 wooly, ginger or olive. Fish of the day, 16.5" smallie, came on casting gear rigged with a phantom green crayfish wiggle wart. Good luck and take care.
Jack Jones Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Not asking you to give up your spot, but what's considered the middle James? "Thanks to Mother Mercy, Thanks to Brother Wine, Another night is over and we're walking down the line" - David Mallett
RSBreth Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Most people would consider anything above Hootentown the middle - say up to Lake Springfield. Anything above the lake is the upper James. From Hootentown down is the lower James. At least that's the way I think about it.
Arofishing Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Sounds like a good day, that'd be my biggest bass!
