Members FullTiltAngler Posted May 12, 2012 Members Posted May 12, 2012 I was reading the outdoors section of the newspaper this last week and they had a list of fishing locations in the area. They had the lake at valley water mill on this list saying it was open for fishing as of this spring. Continued to say that the lake had been fully re-stocked with bass, bluegill and channel cats. Was curious if anyone has even tried that lake and what the results were. Was thinking of giving it a try to see but any info on this would be appreciated.
emjay Posted May 12, 2012 Posted May 12, 2012 You'll see some BIG bass in there. But, man they are hard to fool. Nothing worked, not jigs, not spinners, not topwater. Only managed 1 good 2.5lber by a senko. I was throwing a frog into the weed patches and guess what, caught a frog lol. Havent had time to explore the whole lake though.
Members river angler man Posted May 18, 2012 Members Posted May 18, 2012 I was there today and talked with some a guy who worked there. He said people are regularly pulling out decent size bass and bluegill, however the channel catfish were not being pulled out very frequently. He didn't know whether it was because people know how to fish for them or the catfish aren't very abundant in the areas where the lake is most accessible.
Members shedhunter Posted November 2, 2012 Members Posted November 2, 2012 good crappie fishing. and bass. catfish are hard to catch or fish because of bottom growth
