Had a great time at the Kid's Fishing Day this weekend. Lot's of good fish in the river for the kid's. Crowd wasn't too bad and weather was great. A whole lot of fish in there for the fishermen this week!

My daughter caught her largest one yet, 3.4 lbs.

I bet she won't forget that one.

If fishing was easy it would be called catching.

She is proud of it. I watched the fish swim up there and hit her lure and I was holding my breath until I got it netted! We are going to get it mounted for her. Her big sister has one mounted that is roughly the same size, which she caught at the Kid's Fishing Day several years ago, so now they will both have one. You never know if they will ever catch one bigger at Roaring River or not. I have fished there since I was a kid beginning in the early 80's and my biggest is 5.6 pounds. I know others catch some bigger ones, but I guess I'm just not that good! This is a great thing for these kids though, and I'm glad they do it for them.

It's just as thrilling for us as it is for them. Sometimes more. I've caught some nice fish at R.R., and hooked some huge fish, but the really big ones always seem to get away. I keep trying though.
