Members C&R Posted May 21, 2012 Members Posted May 21, 2012 I plan to take my daughter floating on the Elk this Wed., so I took her out on Little Sugar Sun. p.m. for a little practice casting. She got this one on her 2nd cast. Also caught two others that were very close to the same size. I am thinking,,,,,,,why take a canoe and maybe she doesn't need practice.
Jack Jones Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 Wow!!! Awesome fish. That is the very definition of frustration huh? Practice casting and comes up with that and a few. Experienced Angler, lots of gear.......Dink!. Congrats on a great fish. "Thanks to Mother Mercy, Thanks to Brother Wine, Another night is over and we're walking down the line" - David Mallett
Members Jocko Posted May 27, 2012 Members Posted May 27, 2012 Wow, nice job. For me the casting is easy. Most get off about halfway in but I've been using cheap crappie setups. Whatever she was using, she got the better of a fish smart enough to get some size in clear, moving, stump infested water. Unrelated but has anyone ever caught a fish here that doesn't have crawfish antenna sticking out of the stomach?.lol
Members Solo Streamer Posted May 27, 2012 Members Posted May 27, 2012 Nice smallie...thanks for the Elk float the Thursday before...good times and glad they like the fluke!
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Practice! Maybe you should leave her at home! Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
