johndarin Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 I got out for a few hours yesterday for some fishing. The weather was sunny and hot, not a cloud in te sky. The Corps o Engineers was running just 1/2 of a generator for most of the day and then nothing in the evening. When there is just 1/2 of a generator running it is the perfect time to fish rapalas or streamers, but if you remeber to bring them unlike me! Since I didn't have those i stuck with the usual marabou jig in black or sculpin/ginger 1/8oz on my spinning rod and a Miracle Fly on my fly rod. When I was in deeper water I threw the jig and in the shallow water I used the fly rod catching fish n both all afternoon. We mainly fished from lookout down to fall creek. Later in the day I decided to go catch some bass up in Roark Creek. There are some monsters in there!! We caught a few of them on a watermelon red centipede, unweighted. Casting right up against the bank and then letting it fall to the bottom and reeling it back as slow as you can. I did see a couple of whites still way up in the creek but couldn't get themto hit anything. Darin Schildknecht Pro Staff - Lilleys' Landing Resort & Marina Lake Taneycomo, Branson, Missouri
