Memorial Day Weekend Trip

My family and I were able to go over to Branson this past weekend. Got to do a little fishing while we were there. I am mainly a jig fisherman using marabou jigs and 2 lb. line, but do a little fly fishing also.

Jig fished Saturday and caught quite a few. A lot of nice fish in there!

Fly fished Sunday and caught several also, but the real fun was night fishing! I've always heard and read about it, but never done it. I fished Sunday night from about 11:00pm to 2:00am. (my wife was worried about me down there after dark or I would have stayed longer). Don't know if anyone else has that problem? Haha! There were two others on the water down from outlet 1 a ways for an hour or so and then I was a loner after that. I fished mainly above outlet 1, but went to outlet 2 later. I did better in the upper area, so I came back above outlet 1 and finished the night off. Caught around 25 and had a blast. It's amazing the difference in size of fish caught in the daytime and at night!

Went back Monday night and fished from about 10:00pm to 2:00am and had the water to myself the whole time! Caught around the same number of fish, but got to see a nice brown around 7-8 pounds just out from me once when I had my light on and was releasing a fish. Would love to catch him, get measurements, release and have a replica made!!!!

You all have an awesome place up there and I hope to be able to come back around the July 4th week if my job permits.
