Members JPG Posted June 27, 2012 Members Posted June 27, 2012 Friday 6/22 Cane Bluff to Greer. Saturday 6/23 Riverton HWY 160 to HWY 142 To say we wacked em would be an understatement. I thought I might need a skin graff on my thumbs Saturday evening. The majority of the fish we caught came from fast flowing water on Pumpkin tube and a Fish Doctor both rigged with an 1/8oz jighead. We also caught a few quality fish on a Wacky Worm just after the fast flows along the bank transistion. The majority of the fish were in the 10" to 14" we had 5 fish over 15" and I lost one at the the boat that i would estimate at 20" roughly the size of my paddle. All Smallmouth were returned to fight another day. It was the best smallmouth fishing I have had in a long time on Missouri waters. I would highly recomend it. JPG
Members showmestaterider Posted June 27, 2012 Members Posted June 27, 2012 Good to hear, Im planning on the same trip. How was the water level and did you have to drag the canoe alot? How long did it take?
Members Kent Dickerson Posted June 29, 2012 Members Posted June 29, 2012 I fished the Cane Bluff to Greer section last week on the 21st in a 12ft Frontier Nucanoe, which drafts very shallow. 2 guys about 180lbs each and minimal fishing gear in the boat. Had to get out and drag it over shoals at least a dozen times.
Members JPG Posted June 29, 2012 Author Members Posted June 29, 2012 Cane to Greer is low water plan to get out a bunch; however, if you float 160 to 142 the water is alot better.
