TSmith Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 Well I had to get back out there after the day I had Wednesday. All I can say is that Im glad I did. I had my girlfriend along with me so I got a lot of pic and a movie I hope to add on later. All the fish were caught on an Eakins Jig and Craw. All were caught down stream of green bridge. Smallies and Largies were stacked up under semi submerged logs like caned sardines, and closer to the bank. The water we fished was only 2-3.5 feet deep. Any other questions please ask? Here are some pics... This one was the best of the day and Id put him in my top 5 best smallies out of the Finley he was right at 14 inches long. I believe that fishing is usually better when there is a full moon. People are more crazy when there is a full moon. Thank God He made fish the way He did so I can have better fishing when people are crazier than normal.
Jack Jones Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 Sounds like a great time, even if it is hot out there. By Green Bridge, you mean at the Ozark Park? Or are you referencing another bridge? RSBreth Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Usually they won't mind if you park there - as long as you aren't blasting some music or setting off fireworks.
Jack Jones Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 AH...by green bridge, you meant Greenbridge Rd. Here I was thinking about an actual bridge that was Green. And I've been on that road before. This heat must really be getting to me. Thanks for the map. "Thanks to Mother Mercy, Thanks to Brother Wine, Another night is over and we're walking down the line" - David Mallett
Daveinozark Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 i went to go park there this morning and I noticed a no parking sign on the north side now. Also, there's now no parking sign on the stop sign at Greenbridge road and riverside. are you still chancing it ? I tried over by that stop sign, just parked further up the road. I didn't catch a thing, tried everything from top water, spinnerbaits and cranks. I even threw a plastic worm and got a few bites but they were probably from sunfish. I haven't had any luck this year
TSmith Posted July 1, 2012 Author Posted July 1, 2012 Thats weird Iv never seen a sign posted there. Ill have to look the evening when I go to church. Do you know how long the sign has been up? cause there are always at least one car parked there and on the weekends there can be a lot more. Daveinozark Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 the sign didn't look old. This morning was the first time I've been over there this year so I don't know how long it's been up. I just about threw a fit, no parking signs everywhere I went this morning. It's getting ridiculous. Especially over by the old Riverside Inn. Seems to me that area is now government owned, since they tore it down. Why can't anyone park there since no one owns it anymore?
RSBreth Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Every once in while some drunken fool tears them down and they replace them with a new one. I drove by there coming back home a little while ago and they looked the same to me as they have for years. Lots of people parked at Greenbridge, and some drunk looking people getting their tubes ready at the pool down from Riverside right at the three-way intersection. I'm enjoying the A/C and may hit the pool up from Riverside after dinner right at dark.
Daveinozark Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 yeah the new signs ( new to me) are below the stop sign on the 3 way intersection, but the other day I just parked at the clearing further up. They state towing away at owner's expense. The other new sign was the one on the north side of Smyrna bridge where TS was going. I don't mind the summer fun, as long as people pick up after themselves. There was a lot of trash at that intersection clearing.
