Jeff Olson Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Hi guys, just got back in hollister after 3 weeks of fixing a roof up in Wisconsin,so I have not been out on Bull Shoals since june 5th.will be putting in at k dock tomorrow morning and wondering if the eyes are in any type of summer pattern ( just moved here in jan, so this is my first summer fishing here ) I will be trolling cranks and crawlers.what depths have they been at and is it good to try shallower up on some sand flats the first few hours in the morning? and a certain speed been good? any info would be great! THANKS! ( and powerdive, thanks for the lead core info, I have 2 set-ups now,and ready to try em out tomorrow!)
powerdive Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Jeff, we've been fishing down at Lead Hill/Diamond City the last couple weeks, and catching some nice fish on cranks at about 30 feet. I haven't been to K Dock in awhile, but I'd think the fish would be slightly shallower there. Suggest you try a couple passes along the edges of the flats between the marina and Snapp Hollow, maybe 20-23, then 23-26. But don't be afraid to fish shallower or deeper if that doesn't pan out. I've never bothered with the tops of the flats. Maybe you can teach me something! Leadcore takes some getting used to--it can be a pain at times--but it's absolutely precise and absolutely deadly. Good luck. Maybe one of theses days we can share a boat and do a demo. Good luck!
