Members cabinman Posted July 18, 2012 Members Posted July 18, 2012 You may try this web site for Southwestern Power Association which gives the schedule for water generation from Tablerock. A few hours later depending on how much they generate they usually run at Powersite. Mr. Lilley or someone may give you advice on how that works or search that topic on here there for past posts. I have used it to fish walleye in Jan. and Feb. and it helps some then on water moving below powersite. Not a sure thing but another tool to use if its a long drive. http://www.swpa.gov/generationschedules.aspx
emjay Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I use that site all the time. If Taney is too low I dont think they'd generate at powersite even if they ran at Table Rock but I could be wrong. I also know that they dont generate on the weekends as much, so when I went Sunday I knew my odds of them generating might be a "no". I'll be planning to hit it up again on a weekday and see what happens.
Bubbas Dad Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 Friend sent me a pic of a dead one they pulled up that was floatin' just above Swan Creek. Guessed it to be in the 40 pound range. One of my fishing buddies that fishes alot for stripers says he thinks a lot die from the stress of a 20 to 30 minute battle with the fisherman. I also read the same thing on another site that was talking about catch and release on that big of fish often results in the fishes death. I dont know?
vonreed Posted July 21, 2012 Posted July 21, 2012 There must be something going on with the stripers or something else. I was at River Run ramp this evening and there were at least a dozen trucks with trailers in the parking lot. I'm thinking they're catching stripers maybe.
