Members Prestone Posted July 25, 2012 Members Posted July 25, 2012 Has anyone been noticing bullfrogs down around Springfield Lake at night? I've never been down there after dark to see for myself. Thanks in advance!
Members jbooth Posted July 25, 2012 Members Posted July 25, 2012 I have seen a few, missed a hugeone a few weeks ago.
Members Hawk Posted July 26, 2012 Members Posted July 26, 2012 I went a few weeks ago. We left after a not seeing/hearing any for an hour. Probably wont go back to chase frogs there.
vonreed Posted July 26, 2012 Posted July 26, 2012 The ones that are there are very hard to get usually. They're in the weeds and lillypads and are hard to get ahold of not to mention see. But with this drought maybe there's more open bank for them to sit on. Maybe its worth a try, maybe not.
Members CheddaFishin Posted July 26, 2012 Members Posted July 26, 2012 Went out last night. Found a lot in the brush and weeds near the shallow areas. Try checking in the shallows by the lakehouse. They were mostly good sized; a few were the small guys. Good luck!

Members Jonny Henbest Posted July 31, 2012 Members Posted July 31, 2012 Thanks so far everyone! Appreciate it very much. A buddy and I have been taking the John boat down there and trolling up and down the lilly pads and all of the other veg. We've had a decent amount of success. Usually getting 4-6/ night. Last time we saw a group of guys coming back in canoes from the bluffs and they had probably 25 total. The conoe worked great to get in close and they had some 1mill candle spotlights as well
Members Jonny Henbest Posted July 31, 2012 Members Posted July 31, 2012 It's tough though. The weeds and lilly pads are so thick you miss more than catch
