Members crankdragger Posted August 3, 2012 Members Posted August 3, 2012 Suprizingly, Some real lunkers (walleye) come out of Tablerock. Most are caught by bass fisherman. I have seen several in freezers and witnessed one caught over 13lb. I have not fished the Bull. I can vouch for that, we caught a 10.2# eye last saturday.
powerdive Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Bull shoals will fill the livewell with nicer fish compared to Stockton. But we catch several fish every year at Stockton 27 to 29 inches. I have never caught the big ones where the smaller fish hang out at Stockton. Both are great walleye lakes. Both hold big fish if you can find them. Cabinman, I doubt those words have ever been spoken before. We get the occasional big fish at Stockton, but for us they're few and far between. I did hear once that the lake record at Stockton is 16 lbs. Hard to believe...seems more like a cigar factory to some of us.
lmt out Posted August 4, 2012 Author Posted August 4, 2012 I think we are heading down tuesday afternoon and stay the night and fish wednesday. Its been since 7-7-12 that we have been there. If you see a White and Black Z6 with a Dumb looking guy in the front and a GOODLOOKING gal in the back stop and say hi, putting in at Orleans Trail.
Members walleyerich Posted August 8, 2012 Members Posted August 8, 2012 PD - we caught a pretty nice bag of walleye during that crappie tournament. Solid fish.
rps Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 @lmt out: I live on TR or I would fish BS more often. Potential size on both is very good. Bull Shoals has fewer crazy boats, but is a bit more isolated in terms of off lake things. Come visit!
powerdive Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 True dat, WR. The over-20's were grouped up and on the feedbag that day. Lots o' fun! But that's the only time that's happened, for me, in 14 years of fishing Stockton. I'd like to know what Cabinman's secret is, because even though we catch plenty of eyes on Stockton, about 95% of 'em are sub-18" dinks.
Hunter91 Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I know several nice ones come out every spring if thats when we are talking about. I to would be real interested in big ones on a regular basis during the summertime.
