Members CheddaFishin Posted July 31, 2012 Members Posted July 31, 2012 I went out the other day to get a quick fish in with out foster kid. We fished from the bank this time, the one closer to the lily pads by the soccer field. He was begging all day to get a quick fishing sesh in lol. Fishing was a little slow, just small sunfish and bluegill mostly. As we were picking up some trash along the bank, I noticed an odd colored fish I've never seen in the water. It swam near the top of the water and would go back and forth from out in the open to some tree branch cover. It looked to be about 10 inches or so in size. I tried to take a few pictures with my iPhone before we left. Looked like a Koi or huge Goldfish to me. Has anyone else seen this before??
Wayne SW/MO Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Yes, I saw a Koi in TR that was about 16". I was carp fishing and was bringing in a common and the Koi followed it until it saw me. It could have been a bait that escaped or one that got evicted from his tank because he grew too much. He'll live as long as any other fish under the circumstances. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
