jim m Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 the lake is low, no water going over the dam from lack of fresh water coming in . wonder how long it will be before we see a fish kill due to low oxygen levels
Justin Spencer Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 As long as there are enough plants and algae in the lake it should be okay unless we get a bunch of cloudy days and the algae all dies at once. Think of all the farm ponds that normally don't have water running in and out, they don't have fish kills very often. Members CheddaFishin Posted August 4, 2012 Members Posted August 4, 2012 I was surprised to see how low the water was. The deepest part of the lake I could find was only a little over paddle deep. Most of the lake was below knee deep. We need some good rain.
Wayne SW/MO Posted August 4, 2012 Posted August 4, 2012 I do wonder about pollution. We know there is some going into the lakes and rivers close to cities like Springfield and it will become more concentrated if it isn't flushed. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Hunter91 Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Went out yesterday evening and caught two nice 3lb bass didnt notice any issues with the water besides being low. Water temp was 87-89. Bass came on topwaters also saw another fisher catch one out of a canoe.
