Midwest troutbum Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Nyssa sylvatica (Black gum) most likely if it was found up around St. Louis. There are a few water tupelo (Nyssa aquatica) out there as well, but they tend to be further south around the boot heal and in the southern states in swamps and near lowlands.
