Members riverrunsthrume Posted October 16, 2006 Members Posted October 16, 2006 Fished this last Thur, Fri. and Sat. Never seen so many people in the river and so few fish. Counted 80 people at one time. Fishing was sure slow. This is only my third trip to your beautiful river, but had a lot better luck last Thanksgiving and this last August. Guy down at Shorty Small's said if you want to try and catch a big fish but not very many come in October, but if you want to catch a bunch of little fish a day to come any other time. Is this basically what the story is? Also, I'm pretty new at fly fishing but did have the good luck of being tutored a little by Duffy ("The Master")on the protocol of the river and The Chute (#2 Outlet) I've never seen such a mess in The Chute this trip. People not casting in sequence. Casting over each other. Just about anything you can imagine except organized fishing. Come on people. Please come down there and just sit up top and observe for about an hour. Hopefully you'll get some good fishermen like Duffy and Dick Garrison and others who can show you how to cast in sequence, catch alot of fish and have a ball. It sure beats untangling and cutting line and retying.
