My son and I hit the park for a few hours this afternoon - I caught 1 nice 2.5-3-pound largie on a spinnerbait, and a dink on the same. He missed a decent little Bass on a buzzbait, and I caught a few panfish on my fly rod to round out the trip. Again - slow.

How'd you get through all the lily pads and such? When I was there last week, it was awful.

I hit the Greenbridge area last weekend, couldn't find water deeper than my waist. I went wading, since it's so low. I only found a few fish and they were small smallies or goggle eyes. Makes me wonder where the big fish have gone, seems like they should be stuck in the pools but I couldn't find them.

Must be me but I've never had luck at the park. I've walked up and down from the boat launch to the soccer fields. I've tossed worms, beetle spins, cranks.....I've always come up empty with the exception of the occasional rock bass.

RS...should I try bigger spinner baits there?? Maybe a 3/8 white/chartruese?

go under the bridge and walk on the side of the dam and throw lures down to where the water goes into the pool. i normally catch real nice smallies and largies down there, even some crappie.

That's what I figured. I checked out the mill side last time I was there, but there's not a way down. Looks like you have to head below the dam on the park side. My other thought was to carry my canoe and put in under the Jackson St. Bridge and paddle up to the dam for a bit, then paddle back down the Finley for a while.

that bridge is hot some days, i like fishing under that. i catch tons of bass under it. i found a great crappie hole 200 yards down from that bridge as well. i only catch 4 of them but you can see alot more in that hole, i just couldnt get the rest to bite. if you wanna meet down there some time in the morning i would be up for it.

The park gets hit hard - I like it best in Winter/Early Spring but sometimes you hit it just right - and since it's just a minute from my house I fish it alot - eventually I'll catch something.

The spinnernbait thing works pretty good - most people throw small stuff.
