From memory- The bullseye is from the spreading infection band- the bacteria advances and causes inflammation (red band), but the inflammation disappears as the immune system kills it in a sort of cat-and-mouse thing. Antibiotics are really the only sure way to get rid of it, as the bacteria generally advances faster than your immune system can kill it (hence the bullseye). High strength antibiotics are recommended, sooner rather than later.
