Members jbooth Posted August 20, 2012 Members Posted August 20, 2012 I ran across this today, "rules of department of conservation, division 10, chapter 12 wildlife code : special regulations, areas owned by other entities" date 7/31/12. On page 3, section 3 csr 10-12.110, part 5 it says outboard motors not in excess of ten (10) horsepower may not be used on the following area: (a) springfield city utilities ( lake springfield). Does anyone know if they have, or are in the process of upping the hp limit at lake springfield? I got this document from the mdc under area regulatins on the are summary page for lake springfield, however the area summary page still states 6 hp
Members jbooth Posted August 23, 2012 Author Members Posted August 23, 2012 I emailed mdc about this, here is the response i got back Mr. Booth: Thank you for contacting us. I checked into it and it does seem to be a conflict. It may be that we need to amend the Wildlife Code. I am copying appropriate staff here to see that we get the issue resolved. In the meantime, it would be best to follow the City Utilities' regulation (6 h.p. limit) because that is the more conservative of the two restrictions.
