Micheal Kyle Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Hello All Well I have finally gotten back down to Taney at night have been away for a while just gets to busy here at the shop and with the family which is the most important thing, like they business before pleasure. Last night was great started out slow but ended with a bang. John and Joey it was great to meet you if you ever want to get together and fish or hunt just let me know. There was huge cold front that came through and on the back side was rain and thunder. I love to fish in the rain but hate the lighting we had to quit 3 times because of the lighting. And there was 1 delay due to them running the water for about 1 hour. Kim and I started down in the big hole and picked a few up on a white mylar zonker nothing of real size but I would say we had 4-5 fish right off to the start of the night. first break. We would take off and start fishing again in the rebar and picked up 4-5 fish on a olive sculpin. Had one brown that would go 17-18 inches. Time for second break. Kim and I would go up to the parking lot and a buddy was there and ready to fish with us so we went up to the old boat ramp and would finish the night there. There was quite a bit of rain comming down by this time and was creating some extremely stained water. That is just what we needed I tied a purple egg sucking leech on for Kim and I tied a Black egg sucking leech on my own line and it was on. Just about every cast we were getting hit and or hooking up. I think that we got up to that area around 12 and quit around 2am. We had several Browns that would go 18-19 inches and a few small rainbows. In that area I would say that we caught between the 2 of us 20 fish. That's why I always will be found in rain at night on Taney. I can't wait untill I get back from Helana Montana next Saturday I might get in trouble with my wife but I may just get of the plane and head straight down. I think that the Browns that are up already are on the down hill side of the spawn and will be hungry when I get back in town. I did see sevral fish last night that were in the 30 inch class. I wish everyone the best of luck next week. Michael To Know People Is To Know Thier Ways!
Kansas Fly Fisher Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Michael - great meeting you last night. We stayed until about 12:30 and then started the road trip back home. Glad to hear your night finished well. Joey is pumped and ready to head back down. I think we have another cold water fisherman among us now. Thanks again for your help and we will get together for some good hunting soon. John Born to Fish, Forced to Work KSMEDIC.COM
