ozarkgunner Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Any ideas how the fishing will be and/ or has been? I will be putting in at State Park. I figured Jigs in 6-14 feet, but I am wondering if crankbaits will work by then? I have never fished stockton in the fall. Angler At Law
Guest csfishinfool Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 This weekend we are going to get a major cold front with lows in the fiftys. That should be enough to get those fish feeding,I would start by looking for cooler water in the backs of the creeks, and work my way out. Sometimes this time of year the fish will go extremely shallow with that cool down. Crankbaits are usually very productive in the fall on stockton.
Football Head Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Unless there's a big change in weather and water temp between now and when you will be there I think you are right on with the jig. The jig bite was on this past weekend.
