Chigger Season At Busch

Fished lake-31 for a couple hours last Sunday afternoon and still have red itchy polka dots all over my body compliments of those nasty little harvest mites (aka chiggers) that were secretly chewing on me. Didn't notice how bad they got to me until later in the evening when the itching started. Worse batch ever for me. The weeds are waist high in most places around the lake which makes it perfect for getting mugged by those nasty little invisible critters. Did catch several small bass but that wasn't worth that agony all week. It's that time of year when they are really active.

I despise chiggers. Had them so bad once as a kid i was covered head to toe and was actuallt taken to the hospital only discover what they were. It was awful....i had sections on my body that literally had bites on top of bites. it is shame 31 is overgrown a bit...they seem to let that lake go a bit toward fall. Pretty good lake for bluegill...lots of smaller bass it seems
