Sept. 15 & 16 Bass Report

Fished both afternoons. Mainly around the dam area. Saturday was one of the best days I've ever had on Stockton. My son, his good friend and I caught 50 bass. Largemouth, smallmouth, and kentuckies. 4 keepers but it should have been 5. My son had a solid 3.5 lber to the boat. Caught them on spinnerbaits, shallow crankbaits, split shot rigs, and spot removers, On Sunday it was just me and my son. It was tougher fishing. Cloud cover wasn't as thick so maybe the lighter conditions moved them out of the backs of the coves. Still ended up with about 35 Sunday and 3 were keepers. Both days we caught them shallow. 2 to 6 feet of water. My son's friend had never fished from a boat and he had a hard time knowing when or how to set the hook. We kept telling him to "cross their eyes!". He was starting to get the hang of it by the end of the day. I teased him at one point saying " you don't want to hurt the fishy, just tickle them".
