jbtiwns30 Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 The crappie bite is starting to come on. These two hit the jig as soon as it hits the water. I caught 4 more around this size. I was using mr twister on a silver jig head. I can say they are hanging around the weeds.
RSBreth Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Do those Crappies have the black stripe on the top? I can't tell from the pictures.
jbtiwns30 Posted October 7, 2012 Author Posted October 7, 2012 you know honesty i guess i didn't even pay any attention. sadly this is the only pic before my cam died. i'm not huge into crappie fishing heck i normally don't even target crappies that much. i wouldn't even know the difference if it did or not. why would it matter if it did? just a question.
Chief Grey Bear Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Cacthing crappie on the creeks is always a blast. This was one of the best years I have had recently catching crappie on the rivers. We caught caught a ton in the 11 12 inch range. Those are some really nice ones you have there!! RSBreth Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 The type of Crappie I catch in the Finley and James usually show the black stripe that makes them the subspecies known as the "Black-nose Crappie".
