Bassmaster21 Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 I am planning on heading out early Sunday morning. I really enjoy the topwater action for bass (who doesnt) and I plan on putting in at either at Masters or Mutton Creek. Are there any good spots around either of those spots that anybody has had good luck with topwater lures on? If so where, and what kind of lures. I have multiple buzzbaits, a baitfish colored rapala pop-R, a few zara spooks, and one devil horse. Any sugestions are appreciated. God Bless
9LB Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 I have not been out for a few weeks. I have the most luck on a Zara spook, frog pattern or white.
Guest csfishinfool Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 I was out about two weeks ago and smashed them on a buzzbait. I think i'll head up on sunday and see if they are still hungry. I fished less than three feet deep, flat gravel banks.
Members Dollar Bill Posted October 20, 2012 Members Posted October 20, 2012 I went last week and I think I caught more fish on a spook than I ever have! Paralled right down the bank and threw close. But it was not only early but real cloudy too and stayed dark most of the day. Actually had best luck with the baby spook in chrome. Oddly on the main lake points then the inside bank for a few hundred yards. Steeper banks seemed better. Didn't find them in the back like I would have thought. As usual, shad is key. If you don't see shad getting eaten, move. Good luck! bill Is this fun or what!
