Members Pflugradt Posted October 23, 2012 Members Posted October 23, 2012 ATTENTION : To those interested the sign up for the 2013 fly tying class has begun. The classes will be held at the North West Regional Conservation office at 701 James McCarthy Drive, Saint Joseph MO, 64507. You will need to RSVP for the class with the conservation office at (816) 271-3100 due to a limited seating availability. We will be having Basics of Fly Tying in January 2013 on every Tuesday and Thursday starting at 7pm until 9pm. That is the 8th, 10th, 15th, 17th, 22nd, 24th, 29th, and the 31st. It is all but imperative that you attend all of the classes so that you are not behind when start the following class. The Advanced Fly Tying class will follow in the month of February 2013 again from 7pm until 9pm and also on every Tuesday and Thursday. That is the 5th, 7th, 12th, 14th, 19th, 21st, 26th, and 28th. The classes are taught by Mike Perry, Megan Pflugradt, and myself. We do this with our own time and 100% free of charge because we love to share the art of fly tying with those who are ready and willing to learn. You need not bring anything to the classes except a desire to learn and your reading glasses... lol. You will be allowed to keep any and all flies you tie (unless one of the instructors decides we need more for our boxes) and take them home with you. You should expect to learn 2 tying techniques each night of the class and tie 2 flies per technique. That is somewhere in the rhealm of 30 flies for you by the end of each month. There will also be a great deal of information sharing available to you for places to get materials, tools, and also how to properly select different materials on your own and get the best bang for your buck. Again Mr. Perry, my wonderful wife Megan, and myself have devoted countless hours to the production of this class so that we can relay the best information to you in the shortest amount of time and in a manner that you can actively learn and we are always evolving our methods and circulum. Thank you and we look forward to seeing our 2013 students soon. Check out my warm water flytying and flyfishing how to.
