Temple fork rods

Lilly,

while I was down at your place for the white bass seminar last spring I handled a couple of the temple fork rods that were in the shop. They felt pretty good. Do they fish as well as they feel in the shop? and can a guy get just the blank if he wants to wrap his own?

I can't vouch for the conventional rods, but TFO fly rods are some of the best for the money out there. I have three and I LOVE them... They cast and fish as good as some rods I've had costing 1.5 to twice as much.

I don't believe I've ever heard a fly fisherman "bad mouth" a TFO rod. They may like another brand better, but never said TFO was "junk" or had anything wrong other than personal "feel" differences...

Like I said, I don't know that much about the conventional rods, but I'm willing to be Rick Pope will put just as much into those as he does the fly rods...

Does anyone have any feedback on 2 section vs 4 section rods?

I broke my little old 7.5 foot 4 weight and was looking at the TFO's in Phil's shop. I really like a 4 weight and I was thinking of a nine or 9 and 1/2 foot TFO.

Maybe Santa will bring me one.

There is another thread that talks about 2 pc vs. 4 pc....

My opinion, with the advancements in technology, there is not that much difference the average caster will notice between a 2pc and a 4pc... 2pc are easier to put together and have slightly less weight, but 4 pc sure travel much easier....

For the money you should not pass it up.

I bought one as a backup and now fish it more than my other rods (sage,st.croix)

I have the TFO series 1 - 9ft 5wt, 2piece.

I bought a tfo professional model 10' 7 wt last year for steelhead. Great rod I endorse it wholeheartedly.
