DaddyO Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 I took a buddy of mine fishing on Saturday. The schedule said that they would be generating from 7am-10am. So, we got there around 10am as the water was dropping out. The water was a little cloudy, but, it didn't keep the fish from biting. We, mostly, fished the Hair and Copper. I didn't keep track of the number of fish that I caught. I was content to play guide for my buddy. I'd put him in a hole and show him how to fish it. He missed several, early on, but quickly got the hang of it and began picking up fish. We didn't catch any browns, today, but the rainbows were chunky and full of fight. All in all, it was a good day of fishing. We got home in time to shower and shave and take the wives out to see The Wild Feathers perform at a local joint in Tulsa. JCWolfe Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I don't like the release schedule that they've been using lately. I'm going to have to tie some of those hair n coppers and try them out. Okiemountaineer
DaddyO Posted November 20, 2012 Author Posted November 20, 2012 I posted a recipe somewhere. Let me know if you need it again. DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
Members fishfeeder Posted November 20, 2012 Members Posted November 20, 2012 I got several rainbows Sunday afternoon at Watts on a #18 BH Hare's Ear. None of the fish were large, maybe 12" the biggest. The Hare's Ear was dropped under an egg pattern. I don't tie (I guess I should start) but do you mind saying what size hook you are using? Also, I tied the Hare's Ear on 6X, what are you using? thanks
DaddyO Posted November 21, 2012 Author Posted November 21, 2012 #14 Scud hook. I like the look of it. I use the heaviest tippet that I can get away with. 5x in cloudy water like it was Saturday. 6x or 7x if the water is clearer and I'm fishing midges.
