timsfly Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Still catching a lot of nice trout on drys, blue wing olives and caddis, are good this time of year, the water is still low and clear, but there are still plenty of nice trout in the water, there was a 25" and a 24" caught yesterday and several over 18"s caught yesterday, still doing well on buggers, small chaomis flies, pheasant tails and copper johns, several of the big fish yesterday were caught on zebra midges, black, and the tan have been good the past few weeks. Jack Jones Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Sounds good. I hope I have a chance to get there before the year is out. I'd fish those BWO, but I can never see the darn things on the water. To me it's like fishing blind. However, I've always done well there with parachute Adams and midges. timsfly Posted December 9, 2012 Author Posted December 9, 2012 Well I do tend to fish more parachute BWO's as I get older Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
Members Pflugradt Posted December 12, 2012 Members Posted December 12, 2012 I saw you down there on the 7th. I was the guy that walked a hole down from you right above dry creek, checked the water and then took off back up stream. About 15 minutes later I hooked and landed a 23.5" bow on a sculpin about 4" long. Very nice fish and had a bunch of others as well but just the one bigger fish. Was a great day to be on the water. Steve Check out my warm water flytying and flyfishing how to.

timsfly Posted December 15, 2012 Author Posted December 15, 2012 No, nothing in the park is open, there are some hotels just outside the park. Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
